Welcome to Issue 11

Sunday 11th May saw an end to the Hull & District Youth Football League games for the season. Only a handful of Girls League games remain as focus now turns to the club's annual tournament and, for our teams, to entering tournaments all over the region.

The club's annual tournament on 21st/22nd/29th June is crucial for our fundraising efforts and relies heavily on volunteers to prepare and deliver what is a highly respected event in a great environment. Hessle Rangers U15 Girls Trophy Triumph!

Hessle Rangers U15 Girls picked up silverware on Saturday winning the East Riding Girls Football League trophy final at the Roy West Centre.

The girls, sporting their one-off kit from Octopus Energy, faced league rivals Springhead at the home of the East Riding County Football Association. The girls raced into a 2-0 lead before the opposition pulled a goal back before half time. It was almost level at the break but a second Springhead goal was chalked off for a tight offside.

Hessle Rangers dominated the second half, creating several chances to extend the lead before two strikes from distance sealed a 4-1 win. Rangers captain Darcie was voted player of the match by the Girls league committee and officials.

Well done, girls!

Hessle Rangers U16 Colts

Hessle Rangers U16 Colts finished their Hull and District Youth Football League journey this weekend after more than a decade from First Touch Football, from two teams eventually becoming one outfit, with boys who started and finished the journey via spells at Hull City, Scunthorpe United and (say it quietly), Hessle Sporting Club and some who completed it all with the Colts.

Several of the boys have debuted in men's football this season and we hope they will continue to be part of Rangers ongoing. Thanks to Craig Kirk, Mark Baker, Stu Carey and Lee Healey for their dedication to the club and to this group of special young men.
