2025/26 in full swing
The new season is now in full swing at Hessle Rangers with all teams having several games under their belt, Storm Amy causing our first pitch inspections of the Autumn, teams kicking off their County Cup campaigns and Bilsdon Park, and our other venues, being very busy places full of smiles, laughter and great football.
2025/26 will see us celebrate the club's 50th year with a major event planned in the new year and further events planned for next summer. This is a major milestone for everyone involved in the club, past and present, and your support of all events will be as crucial as ever.
Amongst all the other challenges of running a football club, we are now well under way with the Bilsdon Park Development project - more below - and that brings plenty of challenges as we literally navigate a building site while still hosting dozens of games every weekend. This is a small price to pay for creating facilities that will change the experience of everyone using the ground for decades to come but, we do appreciate the patience of everyone in the meantime.
Thank you for your continued support of the club, the players and our projects. None of this could happen without all of you. We hope you have had, and continue to have, a wonderful season!
First Touch Football CHANGES!
First Touch Football, our introductory sessions on Saturday mornings for boys and girls who are new to football, has been running for over 15 years now. For the first time since it started, we have made major changes to the format to allow YOUNGER players to start their football journey.
Starting last Saturday, First Touch Football changed to cater for boys and girls aged 3-6 years. Ideally, players aged 3-4 will attend the 10am session and players aged 5-6 will attend the 11am session.
The changes reflect the enormous interest we have in the sessions from parents of 3 year olds who are looking to start playing in a fun but structured environment. They also make sense for players leaving First Touch Football to play in teams when they turn 6 years old.
We will continue to deliver quality football coaching in an environment that encourages creativity, creates friendships and teaches good football principles for all of the children who come to play.
Bilsdon Park Development Project
We are delighted to confirm that the Bilsdon Park Development Project has now officially started. Following confirmation of a successful funding application to the Football Foundation, foundations were laid in early September to satisfy the planning conditions and kick off the build.
Foundations and drainage have been completed to date with work to complete the concrete "slab" continuing this week. Once the floor is poured, you should see the building start to fly skywards on your visits to Bilsdon Park. Expected completion is around Easter 2026, in time to join in with our 50th Birthday celebrations.
The success of this project thus far is due to our incredible committee made up 100% of volunteers who have gone above and beyond to progress through legal, planning, funding and construction elements to bring every thing together. The funding aspects have additionally called on our fantastic players and parents to support events and generate funds and the size and scale of the events and funds raised is mind-blowing. A true community effort from everyone associated with Hessle Rangers.
There are still events in the coming season that are crucial to the fundraising efforts as they have been "budgeted" for such as the Dove House Hospice fun runs, the Christmas Raffle and Party and the Tournament in 2026. These events need everyone's support but, the amazing work done thus far leaves us in no doubt that our workforce and wider community will smash it.
Club Of The Month - September!
Hessle Rangers were proud to receive the East Riding County FA's Club Of The Month award for September 2025. This award is in no small part due to the progress made with the Bilsdon Park Development Project as well as our continued growth on and off the pitch and the club's ethos, which prioritises the personal development of individuals as players and people.
We thank the East Riding County FA for their continued support and for their recognition of the incredible work that our volunteer workforce do, day in and day out.
Team Spotlight - U10 Panthers!
Hessle Rangers U10 Panthers compete in the U10 White league of the East Riding Girls Football League. The team play the 7v7 format and are managed by Jon with assistance from Cally and Brad.
The Panthers joined the club in the summer to allow a group of girls whose previous team had folded to keep playing. The team is unique in having TWO sets of twins which sounds like a nightmare for coaches and referees!
The girls have had a strong start to the season, scoring plenty of goals but, they play the game with incredible spirit and fairness which is the source of more pride than results ever will be.
Thank you to Yorkare Homes Ltd for their sponsorship and support of these brilliant girls!
