A mixed bag

A very busy weekend at Hessle Rangers produced a mixed bag of results on the pitch. The Bilsdon Park pitches were well cut and marked, thanks to Scott and Dave, but, were enjoyed mostly by the visiting teams!

Congratulations to our three U11 teams who all progressed in the HDYFL Cups on Sunday. Meanwhile, on Saturday our girls absolutely smashed it with very tough away victories for the U13 and U16 girls and our younger girls scoring goals for fun.

At senior level, there were defeats for our Men's Saturday and Sunday teams, the Ladies lost narrowly at home but, the Vets enjoyed a big win on a horrendous pitch on Sunday afternoon.

Win or lose, we're delighted with every one of our players who went out this weekend, played with pride, worked hard and won or lost with class. That's what the club is about.

Christmas raffle

Sunday 7th December will be Hessle Rangers annual Christmas Party and Raffle Draw. The raffle is a vital fundraising event for the club, particularly with the ongoing Bilsdon Park Development Project. All fundraising activity for the 2025/26 season is budgeted for within the development so it's crucial that events like this are well supported and successful.

Ahead of the issuing of the tickets to all teams in the coming weeks, we are looking for prizes to add to the list. If any companies or individuals that you know could donate a prize such as a voucher, experience or electrical goods, we could really appreciate you getting in touch via hesslerangers@hotmail.com or any of our social media.

We will be looking for smaller prizes closer to the event to distribute on the day via a raffle or tombola type stall.

Thanks so much for your commitment, as always. The generosity shown so far has been incredible.

(More news on the party to come soon.)

Reporting issues

We'd like to share a reminder with all of our coaches and parents that any complaints must be sent to Hessle Rangers Club Secretary or Club Welfare Officer.

Complaints should not be sent directly to the relevant leagues or to the County FA. Complaints must be handled by the club first and any issues will be logged and the best course of action determined which may be to send to a league, on to the County FA or contact made with the other club's Welfare Officer if the matter is important but not serious.

Hessle Rangers committee contact details are always on our Website but for complaints, please contact Club Welfare Officer Vicky Thompson on 07889567559 or Club Secretary Rick Skelton on 07906206448.

Building work continued at Bilsdon Park this week with, excitingly, the first block and brick work taking place.

The work to build up the foundations of the new building to the same level as the sports hall took place ahead of the floor slab being poured next week. Once the floor is poured, the building "should" fly upwards in the coming weeks.

If you're at Bilsdon Park this week, have a look around. The size of the building and the openings for doors are obvious now, bringing the building to life. Fingers crossed that the weather stays as mild as it has been as we remain on track for opening around Easter 2026.

In the Spotlight - U10

Hessle Rangers U10 play in the HDYFL and are managed by Ben and coached by Stephen. They are a talented bunch who play football with intelligence well beyond their years.

The group have lost several players to professional academies over the last two years but keep on welcoming new players, learning and improving.

These boys behave impeccably and show respect to each other, opponents and referees. They are wonderful ambassadors for the Hessle Rangers badge.

Huge thanks to Mason Clark Associates, the civil engineers with offices in Hull, Leeds and York, for sponsoring Hessle Rangers U10. Your support is much appreciated.
