Welcome to Issue 8!
It was a fantastic weekend of football for our superstars, young and old(er) in the sunshine!
There were lots of great performances from our girls on Saturday morning and a vital win at Filey against Scarborough Athletic Reserves for our men in the Humber Premier League in the afternoon.
On Sunday morning, the boys enjoyed themselves on the excellent surface at Bilsdon Park and as far afield as Withernsea while Sunday afternoon saw our Ladies travel to AFC Preston and put up a great fight against a team contending for yet another league title.
Hessle Rangers teams continue to undertake fundraising activity with some highlighted below and we are also able to bring more information on the future of football at Grassroots, having attended the FutureFit roadshow last week.

U9 Girls complete Bilsdon Park fundraiser!
Hessle Rangers U9 Girls completed their contribution to the Bilsdon Park project with a sponsored scoot around Costello Stadium and the Park. Added to the fantastic bake sale held previously, the girls have raised over £800 for the project. You are incredible, girls!
All Hessle Rangers teams are completing an individual fundraiser with all funds going towards the building of our pavilion at Bilsdon Park. Full details and donate link are below.

It's a me, Mario!
Hessle Rangers U11 also completed their fundraiser for the Bilsdon Park project with a sponsored run. The boys and parents raised so much more than their target that as a forfeit, the coaches had to run in Mario & Luigi costumes. Allegedly, one of the boys said that with their coaching skills, Lee & Mike should become full-time plumbers...
The boys raised over £1,000 towards the project with their outstanding effort and we thank their supporters and family for their incredible generosity.

FutureFit Roadshow
Last Friday night, we attended the FutureFit Roadshow at Bishop Burton to learn about the new 3v3 format and changes to the formats for children from the 2026/27 season.
The changes are well researched and thought out and appear very positive. The key aspect of 3v3, once introduced, is that everybody plays. There are no goalkeepers, no subs, no refs. Just all the children, playing small sided games at the same time.
Other formats will be delayed with 5v5 starting at U8, 7v7 from U10, 9v9 from U12 and 11v11 from U14. All of the changes are designed to ensure that children are playing on appropriate sized pitches with the right numbers to ensure maximum involvement in the game, lots of touches, lots of shots and lots of opportunities to improve their skills and technique.
All change is a challenge for football clubs but we look forward to embracing it with your support, as always.
